Hi all,
I told myself that I wouldn't be worried about this but I am. Today the baby has been rather quiet. I think I've felt a bump here and there but nothing strong. I've spoken to my midwife about it before and she said its normal for the baby to have 'quiet' days because they are still small and have room to move. All week I've felt lots of movement and had a midwife clinic yesterday where she was kicking and bouncing around dodging the Doppler. Heart rate was good. Now today. - quiet as. What's made me feel unnerved is one of the other midwives said that we should be feeling movement every 2-3 hours at this point. Really? I thought that's at 28 weeks? So anyway I'm stressing and don't want to pester my midwife again. |

Could be baby's position - ie. posterior.
Baby's moving but you just don't feel as much. Have you done the glass of ice cold water, sugar, lying still after some movement? My babe's moved when I pulled up my shirt and let the sun shine on my belly. Don't scientifically know why, as in light penetrating into womb etc, but move they did. I won't tell you don't stress - as you will. As I did. This post has been edited by gettheetoanunnery: 10/01/2013, 06:05 PM |

Yeah I've lied down, had a big glass of OJ, tried to make loud noises... I have a feeling she might be over on the other side where I can't feel her as much. I feel everything when it's on the bottom left and middle, but not on the other side.
I'm tired today - I don't know whether this could influence it? This post has been edited by Koobie83: 10/01/2013, 06:14 PM |

Your mid wife won't feel pestered, it's the right thing to do if you feel stressed.

How long as it been since you had the OJ? It can take 10 or so minutes for bubs to start wriggling.
Have you been really busy today? If so, that can make you less likely to notice movements throughout the day. I find after I eat my little man starts wriggling like mad. Especially after sugary foods...soft drink tends to get him going. Whilst it's true babies do have quiet days don't feel bad if you feel you need to see your midwife. It's what they're there for. And it's much better to be safe then sorry! |

Update - have let lots of little pokes since writing this. I think she wanted to hear Daddy's voice coz aft I talked to DH she seemed to have perked up a bit. Or maybe she was feeling my vibes? Don't know. I know I have days like this. Re-read my midwifes message from the weekend which reassured me.
I have no idea what I'd do without this forum!! |

Ah, all good.
Little buggers. Wait until she is out and you have a monitor. They do it on purpose, I swear. |

It could have something to do with the location of your placenta as well. mines up the top and around the front so somtimes i dont feel the little kicks and squiggles as well up there

hmm.. you could be right. I think it's on the right hand side. I went to the doctors this afternoon just to be on the safe side. There was a strong heart beat and she was wriggling around. She was on the right hand side, bum facing upwards so she's probably kicking my placenta which is on that side.
Either way it's all good. Thanks everyone for your replies! |
