I have seen a couple of posters on here over the past couple of weeks who have said they are doing the worlds greatest shave I thought it would be a good idea to ask on here if anyone has any idea on where we could go to try and get more sponsors.

So far I have had my MIL take my fundraising stuff to work, my DH will also be taking it to his work, I am going to try the local library, and the Navy club (DH is ex Navy). Once school goes back I will also be speaking to them about it. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Here's Domestic Goddess's related thread -- I & some other EBers shared some ideas that might be helpful. School contributions (small but many) were a big part of my fundraising, as was direct appeal via Facebook & email.

Could you approach the local salon/hairdresser who will be doing "the honors" on your hair & asking them if they could do a little feature piece on you?

Try approaching your local (community) newspaper to get a "human interest" story published.

Also, rotary clubs and the like are good places to try.

Unfortunately, it's very slow moving. I appreciate *why* EB wants people to keep their fundraising stuff limited to one board, but it does make it harder to get the message out.

If you're on Facebook, harass your friends.

Local paper is a great idea as BMJ mentioned. Do you have a community radio station? They might do something too.

Do you know of any large groups of men who might be doing it - a sporting team, a club, or something like that? The first time I did it I shaved up with a group of the guys at my mum's work (I was 17), and because I was the only girl I sort of became a mascot of sorts and got a lot of donations out of it. Women doing the shave is rarer, so if you can go in with a group you might find that it boosts donations for all of you.

Email family and friends who you think might be able to spare a little.

Might go for a walk through the shops and try the local businesses too as suggested in the other thread.

My DH has raised over $1000 for a different cause simply via FB and email. They have all paid online so he hasn't had to follow up collecting money or money tins.
