If a cat doesn't like you, then what's wrong with you?
Not surprising in the least that the victim would get blamed for the heinous crimes committed against her.

Of course. Blame the victim, the it's obviously something she did wrong and thus I never need worry, because it was something about her, specifically, that cause those men to rape her.

I hate that attitude so much. Blaming the victim implies that men have no self control and women have an infinite supply of it. Which is a depressing thought for both men and women because we are all human, first and foremost, and are all capable of self control.

'Culture' is just an excuse here. Jill Meagher and the Ohio gang rape victim were also blamed for being raped.
This is a global issue, not an Indian or cultural issue. Every culture on earth blames women in one way or another.
This is an issue for the whole world to fight.

ETA - she has a name - Jyoti Pandey Singh. Her family have consented to its publication and indeed want the world to know her name so that she is not nameless or unidentiied in her suffering and death.
I encourage everyone to call her 'Jylti' instead of the 'Indian rape victim'. Lets define her by her name, not what happened to her.

Disgraceful. It is very sad that in many parts of the world today there are views and opinions such as these. How long will it take?

Happens every where, every bloody day. 'Cultural reasons' for controlling women is just a huge cop out.
