I'm hoping you can share some breakfast ideas with me!

DS usually has vitabrits/weetbix for breakfast but has recently started refusing it, i think he's just sick of it. He is 18 months old, but has a global development delay which also affects his feeding. He has just started being able to chew small nibbles of toast. He also has SPD so he wont touch any type of food. I've been varying the flavours of pureed fruit i add to the weetbix, and even tried alternating with baby cereal, but i think he's just over it. This morning he got through about 1/3 of a piece of toast (with me holding it for him) but the chewing and sensory stimulation wore him out and he ended up back in bed sound asleep!

I'm not a huge cereal fan myself, so I'm not too sure about the flavours etc of the cereals out there. I tried him on soggy rice bubbles yesterday but the little pieces were too overwhelming for him, he couldn't work out how to swallow them.

So, does anyone have any 'mushy' breakfast ideas?

You could try the weetbix mixed with yoghurt or fruit purée or both, how about porridge?

My DD loves porridge. I often mix through puréed fruit to add some sweetness (e.g. Pear, banana, apple, apricot).

Edited for autocorrect!

porridge or rice pudding are both faves at our house. Scrambled eggs can be mushy/slimey.

I've never tried porridge myself, hehehe original.gif that's a good idea tho, can u recommend a brand?

I have always added pureed fresh fruit to his weetbix, so i can try that with the porridge. i've never thought of adding yoghurt, i'll try that too.

What about bircher muesli? Soak quick oats overnight in whatever takes your fancy - yoghurt, different types of milk, juice, etc. Add pureed fruit in the morning.

Porridge is just cooked oats so brands are really not important. We buy the homebrand quick cooking ones and just add milk and microwave them. We all eat them plain but you could add honey/fruit etc etc.
