Hi all!
We have just moved to beautiful Booker Bay and have found out we are 12 weeks weeks pregnant with our second child. Very exciting!! My question is this, since booking into Gosford Public Hospital, I have done some research with very iffy results... I would like some feedback from anyone who has had their baby at Gosford Public - any information is great! I am by no means prudish, the rooms and food dont worry me in the slightest, I just want to know that the services and staff are up to scratch. Thanks in advance! Ella. |

Well!! Loved it - I went in 20 hour labour - and they TRIED everything (as i didn't want to have a C again)! but ended up emergency C - I have never seen a team move so fast - they were brilliant in all the ways that count...

I was born there (28 years ago mind you!) and mum always says nice things about the doctors, if that helps

I have given birth to all 3 of mine over the last 18 years at Gosford and I have never had a complaint. I loved it, midwife program and midwives were fantastic! The community midwives were excellent, I wouldn't go to the private hospital for anything... well maybe the have a room and ensuite to yourself lol but as far as services go I think they were great.
ETA My middle child was born at 36 weeks and the SCN was awesome too! This post has been edited by mybeautifulgirl: 10/01/2013, 07:42 AM |

Thank you so very much, I think I was having a minor freak out - being in a new area and being far away from my hospital that I loved having my first in (RNSH - were incredible). The great stories are just what you need to get you back in a positive frame of mind again.
My last birth, 36 hours, supposed to be drug free at Ryde Hospital, turned out at RNSH after meconium and with every drug under my belt, spinal tap, epi and numerous others then finally needing a forceps delivery - well to say, it was not quite what I had planned! Just want to be sure that I will be in good hands just incase bub2 does not go to plan again. But believe me, I am not planning on causing so much trouble this time!! Thanks again |

Hi Op
I just had my second son 11 weeks ago at Gosford. I was trying for a VBAC and all the staff were extremely supportive throughout the pregnancy... so when I ended up with another emergency c section I can't praise them enough for 1. helping me through what I thought was going to be a successful vbac and 2. The efficiency and care I was shown when things didn't go as planned. Good Luck p.s I highly recommend the community midwife program |
