Hi all,

I have a friends wedding on the weekend so yesterday I got a spray tan from my normal salon. They know I'm about 5.5 weeks pregnant and assured me it was fine. The brand is MagicTan which she said is sugar based. I know it's too late now and I don't plan on getting another but now I feel like an idiot because I'm worrying I may have done something wrong as last night I woke up feeling horribly sick with stomach pains like I had food poisoning almost for about 15 minutes!

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? My sister said she spray tans pregnant women all the time with no worries. There was a fan in the room but of course fumes would of been breathed in.

Ask to wear a mask so u don't inhale fumes.
It is safe as the tan only goes on the top layer of skin.

My OB doesn't recommend getting spray tans while pregnant, but she does say one or 2 wouldn't be an issue.

So, from that, relax. I'm sure you have done nothing to harm yourself or your baby :-) The pains/illness could well be a coincidence and something that is entirely normal in early pregnancy!

Enjoy the wedding this weekend!
