Are there any of those pre-programmed kids phones around any more?

The ones where the parent puts in the 'allowed' numbers and they are the only numbers other than emergency that can be called?

DD is starting to go to activities and the like on her own and I know I would feel safer if she could call me if needed. But I also know that if I got her an actual prepaid mobile, she would blow the lot in minutes and spend it all calling everyone but me! laughing2.gif

Hubby has been looking for a while, but we have had no luck.

Anyone know?

There is a new app which apparently gives parents control:

Guardian App

No idea what its like though.

Telstra used to have one called Tic Talk, doesnt appear to be available anymore though.

Oh, thanks for that Perplexity! Thinking that's a good one for our existing phones as well!

There are lots of phones available overseas, but not sure if they would work here?

At the least, you can get a start up sim card for $2 and try it out, but it could be an expensive experiment.

The Firefly Phones seem to be a bit of a favourite...

Though there are LOTS on ebay.... probably cheaper.
