I am about 3/4 of the way through Cross Stitch, holy dooley. I am not usually one for romance type novels but I must admit I'm having trouble putting it down. *swoon*
So I am about to download the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, please tell me it's a good as Cross Stitch. |

I have started that series twice. Both times, I loved the first book. And both times I got to a point in the second book where I got so bored I gave up. But millions of people have loved the whole series, so it's probably just me.
From what I remember, there was less action and more rambling descriptions in the second book and I couldn't get past it. |

I loved the whole series, in fact I'm thinking of reading it again. Persevere with it, you will be glad you did!

Your not the only one fiveaus. I NEVER stop halfway through a book, no matter how much it annoys me but Dragonfly in Amber was SO bad I stopped about halfway

I love all of this series. Some books did get a bit long winded but overall an easy read.

I'm another fan of Outlander and I still have a major crush on Jamie Fraser.
However I just could not get into the second book despite how much I wanted to. |

The trick is to endure the first reading of the series, then, when you go back and read it again and again and again, you know which are the boring bits and you can skip over them!

And when it comes to series of any kind, I never read straight on to the next book no matter how good it is! I always take a break with something else (and usually more than just one), to avoid getting bored of the characters.
I have spun out Outlander for years! |

I'm working my way through the series right now, and am almost finished book three. I didn't much like book two either - parts were great, but parts were a bit boring... Book three is great though, so persist with book two if you can!
