What is the best way to fly..., to Broome from the east coast USA

My cousin and her partner are coming over for a holiday. I live in Sydney but we are all going to Broome for 11 days. They live near New York city. What would be better for them. A. Fly to Perth via Europe/Asia and then to Broome B. Fly to Sydney via LAX or SFO and then to Broome with us They've been to the east coast many times, so there is no reason for a stopover in Sydney. First step would be to compare flight time, connections, cost and airline quality..... if there's not much in it, I would choose to go East to West on the outward leg, going the other way is heaps worse for jetlag.

It looks like via Dubai may give you the shortest flying time (though still a pretty brutal 34 hours). Expedia shows JFK -> Dubai -> Perth -> Broome as an option. Via Sydney appears to be more like 50 hours (!!!!!).

What is most important to them? Are they affiliated with a particular frequent flier program? If price is not wildly different between airlines, I'd be inclined to go with a preferred airline (or an airline in the same network) - that will be a buttload of frequent flier points! No matter how you slice it, they are looking at 33-34 hours of flying time: NYC > Hong Kong > Perth > Broome NYC > Dubai > Perth > Broome A travel agent might be able to come up with better combos. Do they have any desire to stop over any where for a break? (e.g. Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong)

We were looking at Perth to NYC and most likely to go via Dubai, mainly as we have flown with emirates to the uk several times and really happy with them. The only problem we could see is there is an 8 hr stopover in Dubai, but they will give you a hotel room, transportation, meals etc. we have always just did the flight straight through, but think this might not be such a bad thing as at least you would get to have a lie down, shower, changed, proper meal etc.
