My 2 year contract with my electricity provider is about to expire, and I was interested to hear about other providers. I know that prices have gone up enormously across the board, but at present my electricity is costing about $1100 per quarter (no gas), and so even if I can get this figure down by as little as $50 that would be something.

We are doing as many energy saving things as possible, so I think that I have to accept that my usage is not going to decrease, and see if there are any cheaper providers out there.

I am in Vic and with Red Energy and at the time they were easily the best deal I could get. We are off grid now though so not sure if they still would be.

Probably best to state where you are as the providers and pricing will differ depending on location

I recently changed to Lumo Energy and so far they have been great. Our bill used to be around $700 but the two bills I have received since changing have been a lot less. The one I paid today was approx $550, but if you pay by the due date, I get a further discount, both months the bill was reduced by about $60 so am now paying high $400 per quarter. We use a fair bit of electricity with a pool filter running about 8-10 hrs per day. I was put onto Lumo after ringing one of the companies who find you a better electricity deal. We are in Melbourne in case that makes a difference.
