My toddler DD is complaining of being sore inside and pointing to groin and backside. We are not having many wet nappies either.
Most probably cystitis? Or something else? I am waiting to try get a urine sample but she is not peeing much and those collection bags are ....  Anything I can do to help her discomfort? |

diluted cranberry juice. Make sure you keep the fluids up.

Ok I will get some cranberry juice.
If it is cystisis, that will not show up in a urine test will it? The test will only show if it is a uti? They are different things aren't they? I am finding it hard to make her drink. Even with this heat she is not wanting to drink much. I am also not sure if its the heat or something else but she seems a little smelly down there too. Cystitis just means inflammation of the bladder so bacterial infection is one cause.
It is really important to keep those fluids up not just because of the heat.You need to get a urine sample and the more concentrated the urine the more painful it is to urinate. Has she seen a Dr.? |

She saw the doctor this morning but he just wants a urine sample and come back if any other symptoms. TBH he seemed a bit useless. I had to take her nappy off and show him that she was all fine down there, as he did not ask. She did look ok, but as the day gone on I have checked her again a couple of times as she still complaining of being sore.
I have now notice a bit of redness (not lots and could be mistaken for just being sweety in wet nappy , but also tiny white specks around her labia so now I think it could be thrush. Do I need a dr appointment for that? Or will the pharmacy be able to help? Unsure what to do for her since she young. If it were me, I'd just go get some caneston. Would thrush be the reason for the slight smelliness? Or do UTI have them too? |
