Had my first scan this morning (after five days stimming ...well sixth injection but that was just before the appointment).
I was happy when we were looking at one ovary (6/7 follicles), but then onto to the other (only 2) - he had trouble even finding it.
I was on OCP first in case relevant (OCP antagonist protocol).

Just wondering if there's any chance the other ovary will catch up - or is this it?

Hi

Every cycle I have done (3 Stims) went like this
Stim 1 - 5 follies on Right 2 on Left = 3 eggs retrieved
Stim 2 - 7 on Left 3 on right -= 5 eggs retrieved
Stim 3 - 4 follies on right 2 on left = 3 eggs retrieved

All my eggs were mature and beautiful quality they said. My FS keeps chanting his mantra to me "quality not quantity" is what they need and want from us. All fertilised every last egg with ICSI my husband has a sub 1 million sperm count so they were thrilled.

Good luck I was awful upset with my low numbers but the reality is even ladies with big number often only end up with the same amount fertilised I have to just work with what I get and let the number thing go.

I would think that the follicles you have are the ones which will go on to mature. Any new ones will just be too small at pick up.

I have had 2 stim cycles ( and a cancelled one) and only got 3 eggs and 2 eggs. We have a 14 month old DD from our 2nd stim. TBH - I'd be really happy at the result you have. Just need to focus on those follicles growing for the next days. From memory, the 2 egg cycle came from just the one ovary.

I got 11 follies but only retrieved 7 mature eggs, of that I got to transfer one and freeze one - I was really happy with this as I at least I knew I had quality on my side.

Agree with the others, you are in good shape for the first scan...

I had 23 follicles, 18 eggs harvested, 14 embryos created. And in the end, what did all that mean? Transfer after transfer after transfer of embryos that resulted in BFNs... I completely agree that it's not quantity that counts, it's quality. The follicles you have may very well contain lovely ripe, mature, genetically perfect eggs that will result in your longed-for baby and save you the time, cost and heartache of multiple failed transfers. The hardest thing about IVF is not knowing how the story ends, but what you're describing sounds pretty positive to me! Hang in there...

I had a stack of small follicles but only about 5 that looked the right size. I was miserable, as I'd hoped for more. I hoped for about 10 eggs, but the Dr said he hoped for 5 good quality eggs. We got 19. He was completely shocked. Lots of hidden follicles that were ready. They all fertilised, and 2 were put in me and 9 to freeze.

I think just go for it. It sounds like you could develop more, and if not, they'll be quality ones, I hope. Fingers crossed.

The puregon dose wasn't too high at 150iu, I wonder if that is good news for quality. Looking at the ultrasound the follicles seemed to be similar sizes (I didn't ask for measurements), except one of lefty's was small. Anyway, guess I will soon see!

My cycle with 19 eggs was 150iu of puregon, too. But I have PCOS
