I thought I was doing really well after having a miscarriage in November, but I logged into Facebook today and someone from work has posted a picture of their 12 week scan and announcement. I was due to have my 12 week scan this week and so our due dates would be about the same. I now will see her at work going through her pregnancy thinking I would have been at the same stage. Does it get any easier?

I understand and am sorry you have to go through this. I had two close friends due within a week of my baby I lost last January - they all would have been born in September 2012.

It has been really hard and there were times I felt wistful and upset. When each of the babies were born, I thought about my lost baby.

Falling pregnant again (it took 6 months for me) eased the pain. I am finding now that it is much easier, even after quite a few months thinking I was ok and really wasn't (it always comes up when others announce or share).

It's really early days for you yet - I'm a year past the miscarriage and can say I've healed a lot. When you're going through it though, you just want the pain to go away and wonder how long you have to suffer.

Much love to you xoxoxoxo

I took me a while.. It's been 10 months for me.. And it's getting easier.

I have always been happy for friends as I could never not be happy for them... But seeing pregnant woman at shops, or new born babies was really hard.
I found myself judging woman in my mind saying things like "they don't look like they deserve a baby"... Really silly things!
But now I'm back to being super clucky... I still get upset seeing pregnant ladies but not so much..

It's a hard journey... I lost it in the middle of the shops the other day when I saw a baby and started thinking about what mine would have looked like etc.... Just try to be strong but give yourself time to heal properly.

I'm sure if you tell your work mate that you're happy for her, but explain the situation and let her know so she understands when you don't get too involved with her pregnancy etc.

Yes, it does a little bit.
You can edit your settings so her posts don't appear on your feed. Sadly this doesn't seem to include if she gets tagged in a photo, unless I'm doing it wrong.

Be kind to yourself, and if you know her well it might be an idea to explain how you feel. Otherwise, I'd leave it be.

Thank you for all your kind words. I'm happy for her and I guess I just need to carry on. If I get a BFP this month it might help wink.gif

It sucks! I am in the same situation and would have been about 12 weeks now too. My SIL just announced her pregnancy and this will be the first grandchild. Im dreading when we have to see the whole family soon. Everyone assumed I would be the first in the family to have a baby and no one knows we are trying so Im sure there will be lots of questions
