Just listening to the radio about the heat and fire danger coming to NSW tomorrow, and they were talking preparations for the day.

How will you be preparing tonight?

We are sweeping leaves off the roof, watering the garden, and preparing somewhere for DS3 (1 week old) to sleep in the air conditioned part of the house. DS1 and DS2 at sleep over with MIL and with her tomorrow (already planned). Will remind them tonight to keep drinking and to lay low.

DS and DD wil be going to work with me and they'll be heading to the movies as well. Anything air conditioned.

Luckliy we're in suburbia so no chance of fire danger, but friends of our who are in a fire zone, have cleared their gutters, yard and the surrounds. They also have their rain tanks full.

No real fire danger here - DD and DS at daycare (that will be fun for the carers having them all inside all day long!) and both DH and myself at work. My office is usually an icebox so I am guessing I will probably be in a cardigan all day anyway despite the heat
Our dog will be inside but I am slightly worried about our cat. 16 years old and refuses to come inside anymore so I will make sure her waterbowl is topped up and hope she can find some cool spots to lie. It was strange to see all the road warning signs this afternoon on my drive home from work displaying warnings about the temps tomorrow and telling people to pack water and delay trips. I can't remember seeing that before.

Well for us tomorrow will be cooler, so I might get some work around the house done!

It was 40 today, tomorrow's shaping up to be only 33

Hide in the airconditioned rooms in the house and hope like hell that's enough. (Luckily we're inner city Sydney so no chance of bush fires anywhere near us - can't imagine how scary that would be.)

Although it will be 42- we are not in a fire zone. All I can do is plenty of cold water in fridge and ice/iceblocks in freezer.

Got dinner already organised, so just have to heat it up on the stove top.

Other than that I will worry and stress about my mum who is in the catastrophic area, as she can't get out of the house wihtout a lot of drama due to being on a walker and stairs at the front of her house and padlocked gates out back.

Tomorrow's forcast of 43 is not unusual for summer here (Western Sydney) so doesn't need any planning. Thankfully we live in a house with aircon at the moment so it will be a quiet day with aircon on and playing computers/ tv.

If no aircon I would take them to Westfields to wander around lol.

Regardless, it will be windows and blinds open tonight then closed tomorrow morning. Water and iceblocks as needed.

It will be interesting to see if the power companies can keep up with the increased demand....

PBQ, I don't know how far you are from your mum, but I'd suggest she leave tonight if she's in a 'catastrophic' area and would have difficulty leaving. Is there anywhere she can go for a while till it passes?

We're not technically in a bush fire prone zone, but one street away is classed as such. Good for our insurance premiums, but I think as if we are in the zone.

I'll be at work until about 2pm tomorrow with the Kids being at their grandparents until DH finishes work. Hopefully the In-laws remember what air con is for!
Not much is planned besides camping in the lounge room with the air con on.
Fingers crossed work isn't crazy with the heat causing problems.
