Sleeping bags and hot weather

Bracing for the hot weather coming our way. DS2 only has a fan in his room. I've been putting him in a singlet and 0.5 tog on the hot nights we've been having, but tomorrow is meant to be the worst. I think I might ditch the bag and use a muslin wrap instead. But he rolls everywhere so worried it might end up wrapped around his head or something. Bit of a silly question I guess but what do you do on really hot nights?

We live in Ipswich in QLD where the temperature is regularly mid-30s and more. I usually put DD to bed in just a singlet and a nappy at 6.30/7, and then put her into a light sleeping bag at 9.30 when I give her a dream feed. She has a fan in her room that is on medium the whole night. Works for us, no issues with her being too hot or cold so far!

On really hot nights we ditched everything and just had our babies sleep on the mattress in a singlet or tshirt and nappy.

It is very easy to make your own sleeping bag out of muslin. Use a bag you already have for a pattern and you can also utilise some large muslins you already have. If you are no good at zips just use shoulder studs.

We only use sleeping bags in winter. In summer it's summer PJ's or just nappy.

We've had some pretty hot nights in Brisbane and on those nights I have just put bub in PJ pants and a singlet. A couple of times I haven't put him in a sleeping bag (I have a 0.2 tog one) but mostly he is in the sleeping bag.

we have a muslin sleeping bag we got it from baby bunting i sleep ds in just a nappy, and have the fan on him. he seems happy and sleeps and doesnt feel tooo hot!

Same for my babies many years ago except we didn't use bags at all, they had sleeping suits but these days so many babies associate the sleep routine with getting into a bag. DD was looking for one for her son who sleeps so much better in one and I saw some muslin ones at Myer for about $50 but they were so basic and easy to make. I going to start sewing today.

I bought a muslin sleeping bag. The brand I have is Aden and Anais and they are available in quite a few online stores.

We have the Aden and Anais muslin bags too. They are apparently 0.5 tog also but they're a lot thinner than a 0.5 tog grobag or similar. My babies get cold at night though, I don't the muslin bags until it's close to 30 in the bedrooms.
