I've bought some Brand New MCN's from the website of a manufacturer I'm interested in but have been looking on Ebay to see if I can score a deal. I have noticed that almost all of the used MCN's have been listed as Brand New even though the description lists them as Excellent Used Condition.
Buying good condition used second hand MCN's doesn't bother me at all but surely advertising as 'Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item' is misleading? Why would over 90% of the used MCN's list their products as new? It looks like there is a reason if most are doing it? WDYT? |

Simple. They aren't allowed to sell second hand nappies.
Ebay cant keep up with everything that is listed and rely on members to report any auctions that are listed as used. |

I believe you cannot sell used MCN's on eBay. Part of their policy. If you reported those listings they would likely get pulled down.

You can sell used nappy covers on ebay (they aren't classed as underwear), but nappies (ie the part that touches the bum) are classed as underwear so EBay won't allow you to select "used" for those items. Silly, in my opinion, especially since all kinds of baby clothes get wee, poo and other things on them and are as likely to be dirty, or clean, as nappies are. |

As PP said, Ebay doesn't allow selling of second-hand nappies - so where sellers usually choose from new or used, the used option just isn't available for that category; it's not possible for them to select "used". Many sellers will add a note to this effect in the details of their listing. Certainly not worth getting huffy over or bothering to report it.
I don't have a problem with it, I have bought used nappies from Ebay; much better variety than non-auction selling sites. |

I have bought some for my grand children on eBAY since this rule and I believe people get away with it by saying they have been prepared for use by being washed but not actually used on the child.

ahh! Fair enough. I felt like I was missing something!
Certainly not worth getting huffy over or bothering to report it. Not sure if you gauged that I was getting 'huffy over' it from my post or that I intended on reporting it, I just wondered why is all. I'm perfectly happy to buy used MCN's, as I noted in my OP. My question has been answered, thank you |

Sorry OP; I didn't think you were getting huffy over it. I felt like the tone was getting towards "you should report it" although it was clear from your post you were interested in buying them so not too worried. On reading the thread again I think I misread; I apologise.
