I need someone to tell me I'm not crazy!
Few days ago my period was almost a week late. Took some tests and came back with faint positives. Next day..faint positives again. Didn't think it would be sticky as my previous pregnancies had always had strong positives from around 10dpo. Woke at 3am yesterday with really painful cramping. Knew I was gonna bleed but POAS anyways to see what it said and again faintest positive. Being rhesus Neg I went to the er to ask for anti d. They ran bloods and urine test which came back negative!? The doctor said I wasn't pregnant so he didnt give me the shot. Now I feel like I'm crazy. I found something on a website that said chemical pregnancies can still test positive from urine but negative in blood as the hormone leaves the blood first. This is the only thing I have come up with. Other people said my tests were definitely positive. I'm more upset that the doctor said I wasn't..cos now I think I'm nuts. This happened to anyone else? TIA x Edited to fix autocorrects. This post has been edited by jessk2307: 06/01/2013, 12:27 AM |

Fell pregnant very next cycleCan't comment on bloods though I didn't have mine taken .. Good luck OP |

I had a chemical pregnancy. AF was late and got a BFP.. Got close to 5 weeks and started blending. Had a blood test done and it was neg. So the Dr said according to the blood test I was not pregnant. But there was no doubt on the home tests that i had been. lines were not faint. AF was heavier than normal.
Dr told me that the hcg test has to be over a certain level to be postive. I would say it was a chemical pregnancy. I'm sorry. |

This has kind of happened to me. I had my blood taken at 11.30 on Friday and took a clear blue digital which showed "positive 1-2 weeks" I found out today my HCG was 5! I just don't even understand how that i spossible with multiple positive pregnancy tests. Anyway I am bleeding heavy now and another blood test done today confirmed a HCG of 6. Devastated.
Good luck with your TTC again. |

Oh Natski...I'm so sorry to hear that
One thing I found difficult was the ER doctor just told me that I had false positives (even though I used 3 different brands) and that I just had my period late. Pretty sure I would have saved myself the humiliation if I could. I wouldn't have seen a doctor if I didn't have positives followed by a lot of blood.. I've had to go up there for shots in my previous pregnancy and I swear some of the doctors have no clue.. This post has been edited by jessk2307: 07/01/2013, 12:14 AM |
