Hi Ladies,
A question without notice...
On what day do you normally take your first Clomid tablet?
I am just curious, and will not act on your responses LOL.

I have been on metformin for one month and the dr said if "no joy" then start taking Clomid next cycle. Well here I am on day 1 of next cycle and the specialist is closed, dr's is closed and genea is closed.

I won't take a new drug without speaking to a professional first, but was just keen to see what your dr directed you to do.

I could go to a different dr tomorrow to get their advice. that would be cd2...

thanks in advance

Should you have your instructions before being prescribed it?

Hi Wishing, yes definitely agree. The plan was to go back and see him once this cycle started and fill the script then. I asked him if he was open over the festive season, new year and he said yes... not sure why he is now closed.

He gave me the script at the same time as the metformin and i accidentally put both in together, (when i handed over the paperwork I thought I just handed one over, but did hand over both). I think I will just have to wait til the specialist is back on the 15th Jan. And continue with the other stuff in the meantime.

I am really careful as am quite sensitive to all drugs, so wouldn't take anything without the specialists supervision.

Thanks everyone for responding. I really appreciate it.

PS We have been TTC since Sept 11, and finally went to the specialist Dec 12. I am 39, and my partner is 40

Good luck with it all!

It is strange he didn't put the instructions on the script. Usually you take Clomid early in your cycle so he should have let you know beforehand. Hopefully you won't need it next cycle original.gif

Yes, it says "as directed by doctor" oops. He did tell me that it would be under observation. So at the time I saw him, I imagined by period coming in about 10 days time (and he would be open) I ring him and tell him. He gives me the full instruction and monitors me over the 5 days.

As it turns out I got my period 10 days earlier than expected. I call him. He's closed. Ah, the best laid plans....

just on the positive side of neutral
wouldnt be happy with the lack of instructions and general attitude they've had to it so far
i'd suggest FIRMLY
waiting untill you can go back and see them or atleast ring

clomid is not somethign to take willy nilly ( yes i saw you said you wont)
missing one cycle will not do harm
in fact its probably better for you anyhow hormonal drugs really take atleast 6 weeks to even out your system anyhow
atleast give them a chance to try to work before you pound yourself with clomid
