Does anyone know how many packets of Sudafed (the plain 12 tablet boxes, no fancy ones) you can purchase in a month before they get suspicious of you? I get chronic sinus problems, mainly in spring and summer, and I always feel like a junkie when I ask to buy the pseudoephedrine Sudafed, and hand over my license etc. I'd hate to think they think I'm suspicious or anything! I know the project stop initiative means you can only purchase a certain amount in a certain timeframe, but not sure on what that amount is!

I think this brochure will help you.

The limit is basically the amount that is required for therapeutic use for your condition. So they will monitor it, but if you have chronic seasonal sinus problems, that would be reflected in your usage.

Funnily enough, I demand real Codral during winter and spring - I'm okay with the lesser drugs at other times (although the last bout of sinusitis hurt like blazes).

Yes there is but it's behind the counter and you have to ask for it. Pharmacies participating in the STOP program request your drivers license and they enter the details into a database before they'll sell it to you.

If I have a bad enough cold to require medication, I always ask for the one with Pseudoephedrine because the fake stuff just isn't up to par and does NOTHING for a blocked up nose.

Not in the ones you can just pick up.

You have to specifically ask for the special ones behind the counter and hand over your DL.

The PE ones send me psychotic, so real ones for me.

Joy is trying to buy when not ill planning on an overseas trip. Then your family who are already away and sick as you to bring some too (as not sold in destination country).

If it's that bad, you should really be seeing a specialist. There are nasal sprays you can get (Avamys for one) that should really make things easier for you.

I agree with this.
See and ENT if you haven't already and see if you can get to the bottom of the problem rather than taking something that makes yo feel better temporarily but does nothing to address the cause.
It's not a drug I'd like to be on long term

I had my deviated septum fixed and my sinuses cleared out about 3 years ago. My sinuses have been great ever since. I no longer need to ALWAYS have a tissue on me...it makes a nice change.

That does not sound healthy! Sudafed and other amphetamine class drugs can do dodgy things to your blood pressure etc and shouldn't be taken chronically. I second a pp that suggested you go see a specialist to get something done about the issue. There are some really great nasal sprays out there now.
