Hi there,
so I've been invited to a wedding next month and I need some help finding a dress to wear to it...
I don't enjoy shopping too much and get frustrated quite quickly if I can't find anything so a few recommendations would be much appreciated, I can see myself wandering around shops aimlessly for days!

The bride will be wearing red and has asked everyone attending "to consider wearing white, beige or pastel shades"...
Needless to say that all my dresses are black or dark colours! White/cream I think I could do but am really a fan of pastels..

I've had a fairly quick look around the shops and stuff on sale but haven't really found anything that I liked. I'm not even sure what style I'm looking or what's appropriate to wear to a wedding as I haven't been to one in 8 years! and never to one in Australia..

I'm 33, 170cms, 58 kgs so around size 8 depending on stores, but fairly slim around the shoulders/top with slightly bigger hips/bum...
Often have the problem that if a dress fits me around the hips it is too loose at the top and vice versa..

I'm not a big fan of frilly things, too in your face patterns etc.. I usually wear quite plain clothing. think jeans, white singlet and black oversize shirt, or black pants and grey jumper.. or black maxidress &turquoise necklace for some colour..

Oh and I don't really want to spend more than $150ish as I've got to pay for flights, accomodation, present, possibly shoes etc..

thanks :-)

THis is nice, and reversible, so you'd get the wear out of it:

Try Birdsnest.com.au

You can set a profile of your body shape and shop for dresses from there.

Edited because the PP link just worked for me and I realised it is Birdsnest too. Although the second two links don't work.

I like this one

David Lawrence is also good to look at and I know they are on sale in Myer and David Jones

Veronika Maine is another option

There are some pretty dresses on the Forever New website which are within budget. Some of it's very girly girl and young, but there are also some simple styles which would be very appropriate I think:

I have a similar dress to this style, it's super comfortable and looks nice with my big butt and thighs :-)

I think this would be good for your figure, with the fuller skirt meaning that fit shouldn't be such an issue (I hope!)

This one is something a bit different, but it's cute
