Hi I had a u/s done today and showed 2 sac one with a 7w4d baby with a healthy heart beat and the other only 5w6d I heard about VTS but just wondering is they a chance for the smaller sac to grow or will my body absorb it?

when i grow up i wanna be like me
I honestly don't know, what sort of ultrasound was it? at such an early age I would think there could be a margin of error when measuring. I wouldn't give up hope that the 2nd twin will continue to grow until told otherwise by my Dr.

Unfortunately you won't really know until you get a second ultrasound to check the growth of the second baby. Have they scheduled one for you?
Wishing you all the best.

My first scan at 5+6 showed one baby at 6+1 with a strong heartbeat, and the other 5 days behind with a very slow heartbeat. I was told that it didn't look good for the 2nd twin surviving. The next scan a week later showed 2 very strong heartbeats. And they are very healthy 7 month olds now. Hopefully its a good outcome for you also. When is your next scan?

Personally I would have another scan.

If it is VTS, then your body will re absorb it. I can understand the conflicting emotions you must be feeling. Our DD5 had a twin who we lost early on. Please feel free to PM me if you like.

Best of luck to you.

I too would be getting another scan in a week or two. Either demand another one, or just get a referral from a GP and go to a private clinic if you want. Are you in Sydney? Ultrasound Care are brilliant.

You deserve to know what is happening. And if and when it happens. In order to know that nothing else is happening. Good luck.
