A question? If i have a 21-22 day cycle how long is my luteal (sp??) phase??

Everyone is different and without charting or tests there is no way to know for sure.
Most ladies ovulate anywhere from cd 12- cd 20. This is the average but can go longer and can also be shorter.
Most lp are 12-14 days. Any shorter than 10 days makes it almost impossible to fall pregnant as there is no time for it to implant.
As an average I would say you ovulate around cd 10 and have a 11/12 day lp

To know your LP length, you would need to chart, or at least use OPKs, in order to determine when you ovulate.

However, the medical advice I received before falling pregnant (with no assistance) was that the length of the LP in & of itself NOT important (assuming everything else is functioning as it should, I.e. you are ovulating, and producing progesterone post-ovulation) because once conception occurs, a hormonal biofeedback process starts, which prevents menstruation from occurring. The doctor I spoke to about this explained that there is no evidentiary basis for short LP preventing conception, although she did qualify this by saying that some medical professionals believe that a very short LP of say 5-6 days might increase the risk of miscarriage, but again there is no actual evidentiary basis for this.

I can tell you that before speaking to this doctor, I worried a lot that my short LP was going to prevent me from conceiving. My LP was about 10-11 days, that said though, I had blood tests which showed I was indeed o'ing and that my progesterone did rise after O.

I am now 7 months pregnant, after 8 cycles TTC.

I also did a fair bit of internet research on this topic & I could NOT find anything evidence based to support the concept of a short LP being a concern. There is an awful lot of concern about it out there, but I couldn't find anything from a genuine medical source. The majority of genuinely medical information about LP actually related to IVF cycles, which are different because they are medically controlled.
