I have been thinking about whether or not to buy a nespresso. My friend works in a nespresso store and entitled to buy several machines at a very good discount -$150 for the basic machine.

I have just bought a Dyson, a Bellini (thermo knock off) and surely enough I wil be buying a slow cooker for when it gets colder, as my old gal died on me. my parents are very kindly getting me a bench top dishwasher as I have just become a single Mum and boy does it suck hand washing for an hour at the end of the day.

I currently drink potent coffee everyday from either a stove stop Percolator or plunger. I Am not unhappy with either of these but the great price of the nespresso nd the convience is there. My only concern would be will it be another fad machine that I will have in a few years time... Is it necessary, well it's not lol (first world problem) BUT so cheap and they seem to be all the rage at the moment.

I brought my DH one for our 10yr anniversary this time last year .... I don't drink coffee but he does everyday. It is now the most used machine in our household. The kids even make their hot chocolates on it.

I brought the Latissima+ and we love it.

not very constructive to your question, though!

We have a nespresso (lattissmo or whatever). We love it. We did have a proper coffee machine but we hardly used it for the prep/cleaning up that needed to be done.

Now, we use our nespresso several times each day. We got one with an integrated milk system, so you basically put the pod in, get the milk from the fridge, press one (pre-programmed) button and you are good to go

We have recently purchased one and I would say buy one. We got the model with the aerocenno (sp?) as a seperate unit but its so simple. milk in to the line and then press button pod in. then your done

Hey OP, if you're happy with your stovepot percolator, please stick with it. That way you can drink your cuppa and happily think of all the extra crap you are NOT adding to our landfill with all those individual pods.

If you really like your coffee I would stick to the stovetop and maybe buy the Nespresson milk frother. The coffee pods don't taste that good so the stovetop is probably better(if you are particular about the type of coffee you drink), but the milk frother is nice to have.

I generally think that the coffee from my good quality stovetop is better than an average Nespresso. And coffee pods (even the Aldi ones) are more expensive than an equivalent quality ground coffee. They make their money in the pods, not the machine.

A few of my friends have Nespresso machines and I haven't yet tasted a coffee made with one that matches our stove top thing.

I've had my nespresso for a few years and use it everyday. I say buy one, and $150 is a good price.
