I think my supply might be dropping. DS is almost 14 months and had been feeding about 3-4 times a day. In the past week, he's wanted to feed a lot more, but doesn't seem to be actually drinking as much. Not sure if this is just an age thing, or if maybe hormones are affecting my supply?

I wouldn't be heartbroken if he self-weaned at some point, but didn't think it would be this early on.

Most women experienced a drop at around 4 months.

I think the hormones can affect supply, like how sometimes when you get AF it affects the milk. DS has been a complete boobaholic today and I wondered if my supply had been affected.

I think it is one of those things where it is different for everyone.... I was very lucky as my supply was unaffected until my milk turned into colostrum at 38 weeks pregnant with DS. Everyone told me though I could expect a drop in supply around 5 months....

No noticeable drop for me yet, in fact I was thinking I had more maybe? DD is 11 months and feeds between 2-4 times per day.

My right boob feels quite full/heavy, but not so in the left. Strange.

Thing is, he still seems to get a fair amount when he does feed, and for a bit he was ramping up his feeds but now has dropped back again, so maybe it was just a developmental thing.

I tell you what though - ouch! Sensitive achey boobs plus breastfeeding toddler is not comfortable.

They say the taste of the milk changes and a lot of babies self wean because they don't like the taste. I wonder if that's it?

I've had a tiny bit of sensitivity, but not enough to mention really. Touch wood.

My supply dropped slowly over the first few weeks after the positive test , but i think it may of picked up again had i persevered , unfortunately i had an aversion to feeding around 8 weeks or so and within a few days my Daughter weaned without any fuss at all which was strange as she was a boob a holic , so i think it was a combination on me not liking feeding a slight supply drop and maybe a taste change. Its worked out pretty well for us as no more boobs has equaled sleeping thru the night, when before she was waking every few hours ..even every hour for a few miserable weeks there lol

My supply was always ample but by 7 weeks it was down to a few drops. By 8 weeks DD who us 2.5yo told me it was all gone. By that point it was very painful to feed too. By 10 weeks I reckon it was definitely dry.

My DD breastfed all through pregnancy (she was 21 mth when DS was born), but I don't think there was anything much there. I don't remember when my supply dropped but she didn't seem to swallow much, and there wasn't anuthing to express. Before DS arrived we were down to just morning and evening feeds, but she never complained or wanted to wean. She was very surprised when there was milk again!

Me!!! I think thats why bub stopped drinking, i had just gotten back to breastfeeding instead of expressing and then there was a sudden stop. Was a very sad moment for me. I am hoping to tandom fees (if she will come back to breast) after the birth.
