Stressed....Whose Stressed...Who Said That!
I have borrowed hundreds of photos from my parents, and I want to copy them into JPEG format and put them on CDs for my sister and brothers and myself. I am worried that they might be divided up or given to one member after they pass...this way we all have a copy.

I have a slide scanner to do all the hundreds of slides, which I will do next.

I have a flat bed scanner, which I can't work out how to use...as the instructions are hard to follow, so I want a specific one for photos.

I have seen an ad for a photo scanner through Digiframe, it's $199. It looks really easy to use.

Has anyone got one of these?
What do you use?
Any other recommendations?

Lynn

I'm in a similar situation - a moving box full of prints that need to be scanned. I'm seriously considering paying for a bulk scanning service rather than doing it myself. It's not feasible with my flatbed scanner so I'd need to spend money on a photo scanner anyway.

I bought one off crazysales.com for Christmas for my hubby, parents and in laws. I think the brand is Otek and was about $120 delivered. It works a great and is really quick. You can scan straight onto a micro sd or hook it up to your pc and scan straight to pc.

Thanks for the replies,

Aratiaw - I think it would cost more to get it professionally done than buying a photo scanner and doing it yourself.

Last Goodbye - I checked out that one, is it easy to set up?

Anyone else?

Lynn

I have a QPix wand scanner.

It is so easy and quick to scan photos. It takes literally seconds for a photo to go through. The dock pulls the photo through automatically and it autocrops it (as long as you have the settings right). I did a few hundred photos yesterday.
It saves it on to micro sd card or hooks up to computer via usb.
Can do up to A4 photos.
Also can scan to pdf.
