My favourite all time breaks when we go out is eggs benidict. Is this safe to eat? Was thinking about ordering it with bacon or spinach and mushrooms instead of the ham but is the sauce and poached eggs safe?

According to guidelines the spinach isn't safe, the sauce isn't safe, and the eggs aren't safe as they aren't cooked through.

I love eggs Benedict but stuck wuth scrambled whilst pregnant to ensure the egg was fully cooked, no uncooked yolk.

Not sure why cooked spinach wouldn't be safe.....

Ask for your egg to be well cooked (hard yolk). If they use a hollandaise sauce from a jar it's ok, if they make if from scratch, the egg won't be cooked through.

You aren't supposed to eat runny yolked eggs, and Hollandaise sauce is basically semi cooked egg yolk and butter.

So a double eggy no, no!

I have a hard poached egg with hollandaise sauce on the side with bacon, but I throw caution to the wind! I only eat it at once place, where I know how everything is prepared and handled.

Eggs florentine with spinach and hollandaise sauce is my breaky of choice when we go out on a Saturday morning, I just ask for the eggs to be well cooked (boo coz I'm a gooey yolk fan!) and I checked with the cafe, they use a commercial hollandaise sauce, so all good. Have never heard that cooked spinach is bad for pregnancy?? Would have thought the folate would be a positive?

I googled the spinach and every site said the more spinach the better because of all the folate.

Agree with the rest - the spinach would be fine as long as it's cooked but no to the runny eggs and hollandaise sauce.

I know, I feel your pain. I miss my dippy eggs too... :-(

Sigh...no eggs benedict for a long time for me now...oh well, I'm going to demand it the day after belly-babe is born!
