First of all - please NO SPOILERS!!!

DH and I watched episode one last night and while I didn't think it was too bad, DH was not impressed (translation: fell asleep).

Given all I have heard about it is how great it is and it seems to be v v popular, I want to give it a few more chances. So, I am wondering if it took some people a few episodes to get into the series? If so, how many?

Or, if we didn't love it straight away should we just accept that it's not our type of genre and move on??

Thanks!

I read the books first so I was hooked from the start.

I would give it another couple of episodes. There is so much going on in the beginning with all the characters being introduced that it can seem confusing and all over the shop. Give it a chance. It really is an awesome series original.gif

See I was hooked by the first scene of the first episode and then found I was a bit frustrated that it didnt quite continue in the same vein.

I think it depends on how much you like different stories that dont always come together for a long time.

I really like the series and am looking forward to series 3 - I had to buy series 2 on itunes - its not out yet on DVD - gah!!

I liked the series from the first episode, which was easy because I had never read that books by then and had nothing to compare it to. I like the characters and story, but I don't like the violence towards children that they have shown many times in that series. The walking Dead series did a good job in limiting it's violence towards children, so why can't the series like the Game of Thrones do that as well. It just takes a little more creativity than the makers of that show have the ability to think up.

I saw a preview the other day about season three, which is apparently the season that they have all been waiting to make but they had to get through season 1 and 2 first. So I am looking forward to seeing what happens.

We were also gripped by the first episode and then found it waffled on a bit. If neither of you got into it I'd not waste my time.

However, there is nothing wrong with falling asleep in front of the telly. My partner hates it when I fall asleep, but its just because I'm so bloody exhausted and telly requires so little brainpower I fall asleep by mistake.

Save me Barry!
Immediately! It was interesting because friends of ours loathed it and they gave their reasons such as the dwarf in the brothel and the incest which were the things we loved LOL

I have loved it so much that I had to start on the books to find out what happens

I agree with the PP who said if you don't like it now perhaps you won't

Please stick with it. At least watch up to Ep 3 and 4.

I loved this series so much I ended up reading all the books afterwards to find out what happens. I'm impatiently waiting for the 31st March for Season 3 to premiere.
