I was just reading the handbag porn thread and saw that Oroton are having a sale.

I dropped hints for my DH around my birthday (they were having a sale then too) but they obviously weren't strong enough (as in I didn't say 'I want this bag and show him the page)

Can someone come up with an excuse as to why I need a new bag to tell my DH?

I don't really need one as my bag is ok, but I've had it for 3 years and it is starting to look a bit worn.
I am on mat leave so can't really justify the dollars and carry a nappy bag most of the time but I really like their hobos and I have a nice new Oroton wallet that I started using last week.

Do you think DH would notice if I bought it and pretended it was my old bag? - they are both black and he is the kind of male that can't find something in the fridge even if it is right in front of his face original.gif

Don't you know that there's a rule about babies & bags?

New baby = new nappy bag (nappy function optional!!)

I just say "but I don't have one like this!" And he doesn't argue. Or I order one, put it on the shelf he never notices. Then when I get it out its not "new" anymore.
(But really in my case he doesn't ask anymore anyway.)
Any excuse is a good excuse for a new bag, all these bag threads I've been looking at have convinced me I need to buy one.

hmmmm, maybe I could do this and blame it on my 2.5 year old DD biggrin.gif

I'd try the spill but I'm fairly practical and he'd expect me to try and wash it first.

If your DH is anything like my DH, he won't notice the new bag.

If you are worrying about spending too much money, than don't.

A good quality leather hand bag in a classic design (especially if it is on sale) is, in the long term, value for money and a good investment.

Yes, if I hadn't been reading the other thread I wouldn't have known Oroton are having a sale and wouldn't be wanting a new bag.

I usually just go with 'I want it'

(and if you can afford it obviously. I don't feel the need to justify purchases so long as we can afford it)
