Hi All,
I've just spent ages trying to work out what's best for us but can't seem to get any figures, only a suggestion that the ppl would be better. Does anyone know the rates of pay for each of the entitlements? If I take my and my DHs pay slips in to Centrelink will they work it out for me? Thanks! |

the problem is until you know your income for the whole financial year, it is hard to know what your tax will be, and your ftb-a and ftb-b. You need to take this in to account when working this out

There is a calculator function on the Dept of Human Services website. Currently the PPL is 1213 per fortnight for 18 weeks and is taxed. Also you can't receive ftb B. BB is $5000 total with about 800 paid upfront and the rest in fortnightly installments over 6 months (about $200). Hope that helps |

If you KNOW what you and your partner will earn into the future, then you can determine the tax that will be paid, then you can work it out. That is the hard part

Google 'Centrelink Rate Estimator' and you can input your details and compare.
