Hi , I live in the Shire and have booked into the birth centre at St George Hospital as I wanted a natural water birth like my other 2. You normally need to book very early to get into it. You can always ring and find out if they have space if a completely natural, no drugs birth with only midwives is what you want.

I have had friends birth at Sutherland hospital and have found it fine.

If you want to go private- I have used a lovely OB- Trent Miller who is based in Hurstville. I think it was Hurstville Community Hospital? He came very highly recommended from my midwife friends. I can't find his details but I am sure your GP could find them for you if you decide to go with him.

Hi ladies

Apologies for joing the conversation so late.

I am kind of shire. DH & I live in Miranda but we are staying with my mum in the Hills area till shortly after bub is born.

I cant comment personally on shire hospitals but from word of mouth Kareena private is fantastic (friend had 4 kids there & her SIL 2) and my SIL had her baby at Sutherland and said she was treated very well.

Do either of you know if a mothers group is being formed for the shire area? Id love to join one when we moved back as I dont know anyone in the area & certainly not anyone with kids so it would be great to meet new people, especially women with kids a similar age to my own.

Hope your everyone's pregnancy is going well.

Bec.

Hello

I had my 1st Bub in march last year and about 4 weeks after i went to the local clinic (in my case sutherland) If you keep in contact with everyone you meet there then you'll have a mothers group with babies all the same age. original.gif
I had my 1st at Kareena and will be having my next there too (due early june). Cant fault kareena but i have nothing to compare it too.
Good luck with all your pregnancies everyone!
