Hi we are starting to TTC our number 2. We have recently moved from the west to near warragul.does anyone know about anywhere in SE Melb that does VBAC waterbirths? I had a tough time with my first baby and ended up with an emergency ceaser...was horrible to be honest! But really keen to be informed the time!

Warragul hospital certainly does VBAC's (and in fact have one of the highest rates in Vic) but I'm not sure about the water birth part.
Give LRH (latrobe regional hospital in Traralgon) a call too. There's also the Family Birth Centre at The Angliss (Ferntree Gully) but a bit of a drive. They do water births. But you may not be eligible as it's a VBAC you want but you'd have to ring them to check. The other hospital to try is Casey (in Berwick). They do have waterbirths (may depend on whether there's a waterbirth qualified midwife when you go into labour) but I'm not sure about whether they will take you as a VBAC. You'll have to ring here as well. At least you are considering all this before you get pregnant. For a lot of places (especially family birth centres) you need to book as soon as you find out as they fill up very very quickly. |
