Looking for some advice....

We stopped using Grobags for day sleeps several months ago but kept them for night time.

The week before Xmas, DD climed out of her cot at daycare and then again at home during a day sleep. Since then she also climbed out of her playpen which we use occasionally.

So... Have temporarily put her back in the GroBag for day sleeps while we are travelling but when we go back to daycare next week they are going to put her on a low stretcher bed. Which leaves us with the question what to do at home? Keep going with the GroBags (will need to get new ones soon as she is just about to grow out of them) or move to a bed (take side off cot) at home the same time as daycare?

Any tips for moving to a bed for a 20 month old if we go down that path?

I can't say anything about that age... my older son was 2.5 when he moved from the cot to a full sized single, and my second son (2) is adament that he is sleeping in the cot for 'ever and ever'
But .... what ever you choose.... our mantra has been.. confident, calm and consistent.... they get the message eventually. It also helps in the either can't open their bedroom door or the doorway has a gate, to stop to many visits to the lounge room.

I'd say yes. Either cot with side off or cot with anti-roll rail (some cots are convertible, otherwise you can buy them to tuck under the mattress - they are not full-length so they can easily get in and out when awake) or mattress on floor.

I haven't found it a big deal to move either kid. DD was a bit excited about sleeping in the same room as DS at first, but that wasn't really a bed issue. DS instantly slept better in the bigger bed without us doing anything (he actually started sleeping through the whole night for the first time!).
