is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away?
Is the coat blow thing all that bad? I'm looking for a dog and our dog rescue has a very friendly 2yo Samoyed x who's come from a deceased estate.

I'm very tempted, but want to know what I'll be in for.

Train your dog, it's worth it!
Its not that bad if you have the right tools are are prepared to groom reasonably often. Yes we joke about it, because at some points of the year, there is a lot more shedding that normal for non-double coated breeds, but otherwise durng the year its no worse than the labrador.

We do have a Dyson vacuum, and the dogs sleep in crates in a tiled area of the house so they're not spreading the joy around.

Samoyed's are lovely dogs, if its a foster rescue, you'd be taking it on trial anyway. You'll need a Furminator for the grooming bit. wink.gif

We have a young Finnish Lapphund who recently had his first coat blow. I have to say, there was a LOT of hair. But, it kinda stuck together so instead of getting hair all over everything, there were just clumps of it lying around the house. I've heard them described as tumbleweeds of hair. They were easy to pick up and the actual grooming itself wasn't lo.g or difficult. I'm not really a fan of furminators, it can be too easy to damage their lovely top coat if you're not careful. We find a rake works fine.

My lappie just has a major blow once a year (cause she is desexed). Yeah there is a lot of hair, but hers sticks in her coat and doesn't drop everywhere. I need to physically brush it out.

I use a rake - furmitator no good on their hair. Sammys are similar i think. I have heard a Mars Coat King would be good, so might get one.
