I have some christian friends who spend time in prayer before the New year. I think it is a good thing.
They get together and have a meal, bible study and then pray and then they see the New Year in with a party.

I am thinking of spending more time in prayer this year before the New Year.

What about you?
Do you pray about the new year?

oh - Happy New Year to all here at EB! original.gif

Mmm, sort of. I like the idea of a new year's eve vigil, but in practice I have a one year old and the logistics are tricky. (As it is DH is going out without me tonight, I think).

But I try to pray every day anyway, and that naturally means praying about all the things - good and worrying - that I see on the horizon for the new year. Actually the coming year gives me a lot to pray about! laughing2.gif

Perhaps we ought to hold a virtual pray-in...share our thanksgivings and petitions for the coming year and pray for one another!

Great idea original.gif

My ILs have a special ladies' group prayer meeting on the eve that goes on until past midnight. I'd love to go just for once but with 2 young ones it's hard (plus I'll be out like a light once DD2 is asleep).

I will try though to find time for an extra prayer tonight,to pray for the New Year and to give my thanksgiving for the year just passed, even with the horrid few months we experienced.

Can't believe it will be 2013 in a few hours, where did the time go?

Wishing everyone on EB and their family all the best for the New Year original.gif

Two people liked my idea....I'm going to take that as a quorum laughing2.gif

Ok, if no one else does I'll start a thread after dinner time, and we'll see if there's any response then.

Every September. laugh.gif

Actually I do pray for regular ol' New Years too but, to be honest, less. NYE is more party time to me and Rosh Hashanah more spiritual.

Aaand I'm going out to dinner with MIL and all of them tonight so I might miss the prayer group but I am praying for all of you, please put in a word for me.

^^ hope all goes well!

I'll try to check in after dinnertime, if not after I put the girls to bed.
