Hi Everyone,

Some of you may remember my fiance' posting back in September that we were pregnant, unfortunately I had suffered an early miscarriage a few days later sad.gif

With my previous pregnancy I did not receive a positive HPT until a week after my missed period and it was quite faint but there! When I had my HCG levels tested we were at an 8 which I am sure some of you long time EB'ers know that anything above 2 is a positive however an 8 is extremely low, we should have been showing about 36 onwards. Due to the outcome of that blood test my doctor ordered another test for a few days time, where if things were progressing my levels should have risen quite a bit. When I went back for the 2nd time to find out the latest results they were reading "inconclusive" and the following day I bled and had an early miscarriage.

Personally I did know in my heart something was wrong when for a week the HPT kept coming up negative and I knew in my mind my HCG levels were clearly not high enough which wasn't a good sign however I kept positive by reading other people's experiences of successful pregnancies when it took weeks for their HPT to come up with a BFP.

Anyway sorry to ramble!! Getting to the real point, yesterday my period was due (my cycles are very regular thankfully) and I thought there is no harm doing a HPT however if this time I test and its a negative I wont keep testing I will just leave it as in my mind I am not pregnant...

I used the Clear Blue Digital First....

Oh honey! Congratulations! This is amazing news! I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I had something similar happen with my second miscarriage, though was so petrified when I got the positive that it might not take, that I didn't go to the doctors. I actually tested the morning before calling for an appointment only to receive a negative. It was heart breaking and left me not really sure if I wanted to risk it again. We had stopped really trying, so this pregnancy was an exciting surprise. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are not alone. There are many of us out there. And know that my heart is with you. I am hoping that both of us have beautiful babies next year. hheart.gif hhugs.gif

Thank you everyone!

Lcasey you summed it up in a nutshell...I am actually petrified and I keep going to the bathroom waiting to see blood or some sign that things aren't going to plan! I have this constant feeling of butterflies in my tummy and then I try to talk myself out of the feeling just incase they are harmful LOL...I am a little crazy at the moment. Every time I feel a twinge or a tweak I think "oh no". If only there was a way to speed up the next few weeks so I can get over this butterfly/nervous/nausea feeling!!! rolleyes.gif

I was meant to have my blood test yesterday but they couldnt get any good veins so now I have to go back and suffer the needles again this morning...they better get it right this time because a) its painful and b) it makes me even more anxious!

I just want to see those HCG levels already! biggrin.gif

Congratulations on your pregnancy original.gif I hope it's uneventful.

As of for not getting blood, if thy cant get blood put of your arm, ask for a thin needle in the hand. That's what I get done now as my last 20 blood tests have all been in the hand as they can't get blood from my arms, even after 5 tries!!!??

Good luck and I a sorry to hear about your loss.

I feel the fear is absolutely natural. It's hard but try to set small mental goals. I'm going week by week at the moment. And trying to be patient for 12w to come. I'm petrified still and checking all the time for blood. The best way to calm nerves for me, besides trying to alter my presence of mind, is to breathe slowly and remind myself that we've gotten this far, what's to say that we can't get to full gestation?

As for the bloods, my pathology puts the band around my arm and then asks me to make a tight fist and flex my arm a couple of times. They also have taken blood from the back of my hand when they've had trouble in the past. Could one of those help?

Yay! Congratulations original.gif

Can I just say that those stabby type crampy pains are totally normal & a great sign! I didn't have any during the pregnancy I miscarried but I had them in both my non miscarriage pregnancies. The clear blue showing 2-3 also means your levels are good as 4 days before my period mine showed 1-2 so if yours is 3-4 on the day of your missed period then that is great!
