Hello Canberrans

I am trying to organise a family dinner for my mum's 80th birthday and I am after suggestions for restaurants. I have 2 children 4 and 5 and my sisters daughter is 8 so we were looking for somewhere where they can be kids but we can still have a nice meal! Somewhere with some outdoor space would be good so they can run around without annoying other diners. Does such a place exist?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The Mawson Club has a decent play area for the kids that is adjacent to the dining area.

You could try the George Harcourt Inn in Gold Creek.

Decent pub food and an outdoor area.

Thanks ladies. I have one sister who wants a posh restaurant and the rest of us want child friendly! Trying to please all is hard....and I haven't lived inCanberra since 1999 so I am not up with the latest hip places to eat.

Thanks again, I will check out these suggestions.

Possibly better for a lunch than a dinner, but I really like the outdoor area at Rose Cottage, there is a great sandpit for kids and lots of space to run & play amongst the garden, they also have a kids menu

Hi OP
I used to live in Canberra and found that there wasn't a huge number of places in Civic that were child friendly. We used to meet up at The Southern Club Cross at Woden or the Mawson Club. Both have really good, play areas for children and you can sit near to supervise. I found the food at the Mawson Club marginally better-but that was a while ago.
Good Luck
