I have had my eye on a sequin jacket from DP for a while, and waited until the sales to get it. I checked a couple of online sizing conversions and they said to go down a size for UK, but after ordering I have seen sites that say to go up a size.
Is DP sizing on the large size |

is it dp brand or their partner brands? if it's dp it's pretty much the same or slightly smaller but the partner brands are on the small side.
i'm sz 8 here and wear dp sz 8 to 10...i can generally tell if i need a sz 8 or 10 depending on the cutting/type of dress. if i order 10 items, maybe one doesn't sit well and needs to be adjusted. |

I found the DP brand sizing slightly smaller than AU sizing for most items.

OP, I'm guessing this arrived by now.
Did it fit? I'm curious because I've been eyeing up some of the items on the store. |

Parcel arrived yesterday. I'm currently a 14, working on getting to 12 and ordered a 10.
I would say its definately a 10, if not an 8. No probs - luck of the draw I guess, I'm deciding whether to return or ebay. |

I know you've already received the jacket and it's too small, but I just wanted to say for future reference that you do generally go up a size with clothes from the UK.
In Australia the 'ideal size has always been around a 10, in the UK it's 12 - they are the same size, so always advisable to go up a size with UK clothes. Better to be a little big than too small. |

Vanessa that is interesting. I am 8-10 UK sizing 2-4 US sizing but for Aussie clothes they are all 8-12 depending on brand.
UK I purchase Next, Bravissimo/Pepperbury, Marks&Sparks, Boden. |

I haven't bought any clothes from those stores except for Boden (although I have bought bras from Bravissimo) and with Boden I have found their sizes have changed over the last few years (started buying in 2007). Some styles I need to go up a size, others I will buy the same size I am here.
I think the trouble is, we have so much variation in sizing in Australia, that it's hard to work out what our standard 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 is. Historically though, a size 10 here has been as size 12 in the UK. Essential thing to do is to always check the size charts, even though they are not always completely accurate, gives you a better idea. This post has been edited by vanessa71: 13/01/2013, 10:44 AM |
