My contribution to Christmas dinner was homemade ice-cream.
It wasn't until the ice-cream had been churned and put into the freezer that I realised the milk I used had expired. I chose to keep this bit of information to myself and served it to my family. Everyone enjoyed it and nobody got sick, so all is ok, but I felt I needed to clear my conscience. My question to you all is... Do you have any Christmas confessions, cooking or otherwise, you would like to share? ETA- I ate the ice-cream myself. It tasted fine- yum in fact! I once made peach ice cream and it wasn't till it was all done that I tasted it and realised the cream was off.
I didn't serve it! you could always say"ice cream? Did i call it that...no, frozen YOGHURT!" |

My confession is every one thought the potato bake was home made.... It was packet mix. My step grandmother always says she can tell the difference and refuses to eat packet mix stuff.... She ate 3 servings and says it was the best potato bake she has ever had

Expired and 'off' are sometimes 2 different things. Once milk is off it's pretty obvious and OP would probably have noticed whilst making the ice-cream. |

Meh I drink expired milk all the time, the use by date is often wrong.
Packet mix for the bikkies Prawns were preecooked May or may not have washed the vegies in the salad Ditto strawberries (they looked clean) But anyone who knows me well would expect no less (or no more, actually). |
