I'm only 17 weeks so plenty of time yet, but am having trouble with names. Ideally we're looking for something that is unambiguous to pronounce and spell, is not made up, and is relatively short (or can be shortened) as we have a long surname.

Girls:
Anya
Sophie
Annika
Saskia
Cleo
Heidi
Holly
Clover
Anna
Juliet
Elsa
Elke
Emilia

Boys:
Benjamin (Ben)
Samuel (Sam)
Rex
Finn
Kipp
Theo
Toby

DH is not keen on all of the above except Sophie, Holly, Benjamin, Samuel. I like these too (especially Sophie) but they are so common! I always imagined I'd give my child a somewhat unusual name... What other names can people think of that "fit in" with this list? Thanks!

if you want unambiguous pronunciation, you need to ditch Annika...I know 3, with 3 different pronunciations; Uh-neck-ah, Are-neek-ah, An-icka

I like Heidi, Juilet and Cleo from your list. Sorry but I really dislike Holly, Clover and Elke.

Other names that are easy to pronounce, spell and not so common (and I just happen to love) are

Ayla
Asha
Elle
Lila
Layla

Sorry, I'm no help when it comes to boys names. The only name I like is Reis (German version of Rhys/Reece).

That would be a revelation; Reis is the German word for rice. I don't think Rhys/Reece has anything to do with rice but I don't know any Welsh.
