In the last 12 months I have

submitted my thesis,

Met some awesome new people,

Got my first proper job,

Graduated with my phd,

Scored a 2 year research contract at uni (while pregnant)

Won a uni internal research grant,

And MOST IMPORTANTLY

Became a mommy to the most wonderful little guy in the world!!!!



What awesome things have happened in 2012 for you?

my son was born in feb (Op, i call my Son pumpkin head too )

i married my best friend in may

i became really good friends with my friend in august

ive changed my eating/life style habits so that i can hopefully live a longer fuller life

and most importantly:

i have accepted that i can not control everything and that sometimes, sh*t is just not going to work out, no matter how many minute details i make.... this is huge for me. i was such a stress head over everything, and now im alot more relaxed.

My year has been pretty crap, BUT I did have my son in March, so all in all, could be worse

Cruise with a 10 month old? Dh dream would be a druise holiday... Tell me more! Im intrigued

We have bought a house

Conceived baby number 2

DP got a great new job

And that's about it

2012 has been fairly crap for me.

In 2013 I hope to:

start my new degree to begin a whole new career.

be a better friend

hopefully have DFS2 orders finalised to stay with me forever

get a little dog to encourage all of us to have more outdoor exercise

Had my second son on 2 feb ...after three years of TTC....and he's such a delight! My first son started school and is really loving it...I made heaps of new friends with the mums and dads at school....that's about it, but it's been a great year!

- Inherited all my mum's beautiful furniture and family heirlooms, and without losing my mum, she just downsized to a life on the road!

- Had lots of visits from my mum and s-dad after years of not having them over this way, but having to travel to see them instead.

- My mum and dad (divorced for 27) finally spoke to one another again after 25 years of my dad refusing to talk to my mum, and they are now getting along (it's a true miracle) so I can plan a renewal of vows and invite everyone (we eloped 14 years ago because I couldn't invited both my parents to the same event).

- My eldest got into our dream high school, despite not living in the zone and them having a tiny intake for year 7.

- My youngest got into our old kindergarten, despite us having moved out of the area.

- The mums in my third child's class are so friendly and I had some fun socialising with them after finding it hard to really 'break into' the already established groups of friends in my other kids classes in previous years!

- I didn't get into the PhD I applied for for 2013 due to a mix up regarding my thesis, but I met a lovely academic who is very supportive and excited about my proposal and if I'm not offered a candidacy after forwarding all the correct information to the university just before Christmas, then she has already agreed to be an external supervisor when I am offered a candidacy at another university! Woot!

- Receiving the news that my mum and s-dad will be basing themselves here in Melbourne as off the new year and I will even have some voluntary work in their business (which is great for my resume!)
