Why would they start testing on animals again when they haven't for so long? I personally am going to boycott these companies. Add it to the list! (L'Oreal etc).

It's ridiculous. Every time I find a product I like I find out this information. I have just had to swap to aldi washing powder as I found out OMO tests on animals (how the washing powder affects their eyes). Sigh.

I was just reading that some companies have had their leaping bunny revoked because of the Chinese market. Have they actually resumed, or is it just that they are no longer certified? (in China cosmetics must be tested on animals)

My beautician has stopped selling Dermalogica, as they have also started testing on animals. She said it was so that they can sell in China where testing on animals is a requirement. It is very sad if extending their profits, by selling in China, leads to a resurgence in such an unethical practice.

I just contacted dermalogic and they replied stating that do not test on animals and don't intend to use animal testing in the future.
I will look into it further though - there is a lot on the net stating that they are selling to China and the implication is that they would have to test in that case. Bugger - I was just looking into purchasing dermalogica again. Thanks for alerting us to this OP |

That's shocking.
I have a whole list of things I avoid and now will add that to the list. Thanks for letting us know about Omo too. This post has been edited by Maple Leaf: 28/12/2012, 05:21 PM |

Beware that some companies claim to not test on animals but they may only be referring to the final product - the individual ingredients may still be tested on animals
