As the title suggests, my toddler has proven himself to be an escape artist in his car seat. We have a Meridian T&A seat in which he is forward facing. On our 4 hour Christmas drive, he started wiggling and managed to get his arms out of the straps (which I checked and were tight) leaving him just in the lap belt.

We stopped, re-positioned but this continued and now every trip in the car it seems to happen. Is there anything I can do to keep his arms in that will not affect the integrity of the 5 point harness/seat? Stopping every 5 minutes is sometimes not an option and so I need to keep Houdini safe.

We bought Houdini Stop straps for our toddler: http://www.houdinistop.com/213524/html/page.html

He was getting his arms out even on the shortest trip and it was so dangerous, not just for him but so distracting for us as the driver. We've had no more problems since we got that strap.

Agreed, houdini straps are the best. Cheap and effective. My son hasn't got his arms out since I installed it.
