Hi

Everyone is so helpful here I thought Id ask another quick question.

My dr recommended I take Elevit with Iodine, so I am currently taking this once a day. But I have stopped my usual multi-vitamin (swisse womens ultivite) since starting the Elevit. Is it ok to take both? Does anyone know?

Thanks

I haven't used Elevit or Swisse, but check the vitamins provided in them. I'm not sure, but I think Elevit is a multi vitamin also(?), so you would probably be doubling up on some vitamins by taking both. If that is the case, definitely don't take both.

Vitamin supplements usually tell you on the side of them what the recommended daily intake is (RDI), and some vitamins can be dangerous if you have more than the RDI. Don't forget you also get a lot of vitamins from the food you eat - especially if you have a healthy varied diet. It is a good idea to have a multi when TTC, but not one with vitamin A. I'm not using a multi right now - just taking folate, which is important for a baby's development. I think Elevit may contain that?

Hope that helps!

You take Elevit or whatever your preferred pregnancy multivitamin is on its own, not as well as another multivitamin.
