A couple of people mentioned in the "disappearing presents" thread that their kids never draw on walls. REALLY???
To me that would be a dream come true. My children are all young Picassos with no surface safe. The oldest has ADHD and with little impulse control, she still does it, the middle child, thankfully has finally learned not to do it and my youngest is prolific. He was doing it from the moment he could hold a pen/crayon/texta/pencil/whatever.
Writing implements are strictly controlled in my house as a result. We have drawing sessions at the kitchen table where I hover and make sure that no pencils are spirited away. My oldest is given a pen to write in her diary at night and then I retrieve the pen at lights out lest it fall into 1yr old hands. But the little buggers still manage to sniff them out. My passage and a brand new blanket box currently showcase an extensive work by the youngest artist. That's a job for me this afternoon.
Please tell me I'm not the only one.

My children have never (touch wood) drawn on the walls. Couches on the other hand....

you are so not the only one.. i am currently having lunch from painting the house from DD artwork!


i find something you have said interesting though your oldest has ADHD and little impulse control is there anything else she cant resist??? my DD sometimes does things and cant explain why she does it like she has no control even though she knows its wrong...

Mine don't draw on walls, but they do draw on themselves, the floor and the furniture. Non-washable writing implements are quickly evicted from our house!

Luckily only a handful of times thank god. Considering how much DD loves drawing and craft it's nothing short of a miracle. We did however go through a year long phase of DD drawing on windows with spit. That was fun...not.

nope my 2 older boys love drawing on walls or even the tv if you arnt watching so we have kinda banned any writing utencils for kids unless they are being monitored by either myself or hubby and they are pretty good if we sit drawing with them. i guess with age i hope they get better and realize drawing is for paper and not the walls etc.
my hubby loves saying we cant have anything good cause the boys will wreck it and maybe one day when they're 20 we might get something nice!

Sorry, can't help you there. Mine don't and never have. Frankly, I'd be extremely peeved if they did.

I celebrated the first time my son drew on our walls! He is on the autism spectrum and I am delighted when he does typical, age appropriate stuff :-)
