It's so hot here in Perth and I can't really be bothered, so thought I'd post here. Obviously I won't take medical advice from EB yada yada.

On Christmas Day I was about to hop in to the pool and I stumbled as I put my foot down on the step (just clumsy LOL hadn't even had a drink yet!) and cracked my knee on the step, hard, right on the knee cap. The immediate pain brought tears to my eyes, but the pain settled to only hurting if I touched the knee. Two days later it still hurts a lot to touch the knee cap, to the point where I get woken up if I touch the knee on the bed etc. I can move it OK and it doesn't hurt if I don't touch it, but there's a funny pins-and-needles sensation in the knee when I bend it. No obvious swelling and no bruising.

Would you go to the doc?

Yep, I would go, though you may be referred on to a physio or something. Knees are useful.

DH just called the local medical centre - they said there were 74 people waiting and 3 doctors.

How long do you want to wait?

My non EB sanctioned advice - put some ice on it, put it up and rest, if it hasnt improved in a day or so see the Dr then.

Never forget who you are, little star
Agree with Chief Pancake Maker - ice, elevate, rest and wait and see. If it gets worse or fails to improve, see a doctor.

Train your dog, it's worth it!
You've probably damaged the bursar sac behind your knee (also known as bursitis). You need a GP to confirm if its this, or if you've done somthing spectacularly amazing like cracking your knee cap.

Get to the GP as soon as you can - in the mean time, anti-inflammatories are your friend.

I did a similar thing and burst the sac behind my knee cap. It was so painful! Dr couldn't do anything. It was a matter of rest, ice and anti inflammatories. sad.gif I would see your Dr when you can to make sure it's not anything bad but if I was you I wouldn't rush off if I knew that I would have to wait for hours.

I managed to get an appt this evening, the pain was getting worse so I rang my GP just to see if I could get in. He thinks I may have fractured my knee cap, so has referred me for an x-ray first thing tomorrow ohmy.gif Fingers crossed he's wrong!
