Hi guys,

I was hoping someone could help me.

I was given a cot by a good friend but they don't seem to make this size cot anymore. We couldn't get a mattress to fit so we had a foam one cut and covered for us, but now of course we can't get sheets. The dimensions are 128 x 65 x 5 cm. I'm not too worried about the sheets themselves being too big but I need mattress protectors and/or fitted sheets that fit properly. I've asked around for custom made ones but for two matress protectors and 3 fitted sheets it would be cheaper to buy a new cot and mattress set from somwhere like target. And it means we can't just buy a new set when we see one we like. I would prefer to find someone who stocks sheets for this mattress size than tell my freind thanks but no thanks

I'm not sure about the sheets but the matress protector we bough could easily be adjusted to fit a different cot size. It came from Target. It doesn't have material around the sides so doesn't exactly need to fit around the edges of a mattress. The elastic is about 30 cm from the top and bottom and just goes across to the other edge. If your matress is smaller you could just tie a knot in the elastic.

I've been looking for mattress protectors that have elastic opposed to being fitted but our local target store doesn't have any and the only one listed on their website is fitted also but I'll keep looking. Your right, I could easily run a stitch down the sides to make it smaller if I find some.

[/size]Thanks Chelara. These sheets are still a tad too big. Sheetworld in the US recommended a mattress protector have a very snug fit (tooavoid leakage over the side??). They used to make sheets this size but don’tanymore. It doesn’t help that the mattress I have is really thin either. I canget a fitted mattress protector made for $54, but I can get a new cot for $60?I’m hoping I can find non fitted one’s in the next couple of months before bubarrives.

I have found flat mattress protectors and can get smaller fitted sheets made for $20 each. Still a little frustrating but oh well

This sounds like the size for the cots that they use in childcare centres... we had one too and had a similar problem. Our creche at the time offered to order some in for us next time they place an order.

Hi, if you are a sewer just google "fitted crib / cot sheet tutorial" and sew your own. I make cot sheets and make them up in fabrics I like, including fleece, flannelette (for cold nights). Keep an eye on spotlight for fabric sales. But $20 each is not a bad price for custom sheets. I only ever make the fitted sheet, never a flat sheet or pillow case.

Just curious, but where did the cot come from originally? Does it meet Australian standards ?
How old is it?

Agree, I'd just get a new cot.
