Hi
Not sure if this is the correct place to post... Our next door neighbours have built one of their walls up to the fence line.... so it goes fence, wall, fence - all continuing the one line (I hope this makes sense) Am I allowed to put one of those foldout clotheslines attached to the wall? IMO it replaces the fence and you can normally attach lattice or whatever to fences so this should be ok? Look forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks |

I would recommend contacting your council and asking them.
Personally I would never put anything on any neighbour's wall, just in case it caused problems, even if it was ok to do. I would not be happy if a neighbour started drilling holes etc in any of my house's external walls. Wires, structural points etc could be affected. This may help: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1858812 The HomeOne forum may be a good place to get some other perspectives too. This post has been edited by katpaws: 27/12/2012, 11:53 AM |

I would be ringing your council. Is the wall an external house wall or shed wall? I'm very surprised that they were allowed to build right up to the boundary - this is absolutely not permitted in my council area. |

How tempting OP!
I don't think you are allowed to without their permission, but do call your Council to check. |

QUOTE I'm very surprised that they were allowed to build right up to the boundary - this is absolutely not permitted in my council area. We had to build on the boundary line due to our LGA (Vic) regulations and specifications; all legal though. We had to have a bulk head put in on one side as there are height restrictions if you are building on the boundary line. |
