So right now I haven't the time or the money to get to a salon, so I bought one of the Nads Brazillian wax kit thingies. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but now that I'm home and reading the instructions, I'm worried it's going to hurt like a mofo.

Has anyone used it? Any tips?

My ex boyfriend used to do it for me while I drank wine. I can never get the angle right to rip the strips off down there. I wax my own lip and eyebrows though.

I like cats, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
Doesn't hurt like a mofo, anyway? Only the audience will change.

Yes I have done it myself a few times. It was very painful and took over an hour. In the end it was only a bit cheaper to do it myself so now I just get it professionally done. Shop around there are places where you can get it done for as little as $35. By the time you buy the wax its pretty even anyway. I always found I needed two packets o get it all done.

If you really can't get it done professionally get someone else to do it for you if possible.

I have done so a few times, but you need to be a contortionist to get all the bits. I don't like using hot wax because I have trouble pulling it all off in one go, which really hurts when you have to keep pulling at it, so prefer strip wax. Hence I find it easier to get it done professionally.

Yes, but if a beautician's doing it, they'll just rip it. I'm scared I'll only get part way through because I can't rip the wax hard enough and end up having to have some sort of comb over.

I tried one of those DIY Brazillian kits when I was younger and sillier. After a bit of bathroom hilarity, I discovered I'd rather have someone else do it.

Consequently, it's a neatly trimmed jungle if I can't get to a salon.

ETA: I only got 1/3 of the way through the job due to issues with the wax and pain levels. Had to wait until it had grown out again before I could face going to a salon!

I do my own brazilian all the time. Wipe the area with baby power first but not too much otherwise the wax will just take the powder and not the hair first time.

It dosnt hurt that much if you dont leave it any longer than 4 weeks between waxes.

I dont use nads though - its too messy.. I use the purple nair strips (berry ones). Some of the other strips you buy are too plasticy and they do hurt.

With the strips cut into litteler strips and you'll be fine.

(sorry bout spelling errors - on a diff computer)
