I have never had fluid retention before becoming pregnant. Now my fingers are like sausages, I have cankles, and my joints actually hurt I'm that puffy. And my face swells up like a bullfrog.
My blood pressure was fine at my last check (1 wk ago) and it's not a sudden new thing -just worse in the heat. Drinking a glass of water every 30 minutes seems to help as does swimming, but it gets really really bad overnight. I'm in Perth and the forecast if for a solid week of 38 + degrees. Has anyone got any magic tips? |

No magic tips - I was just going to say swimming gives me relief for a couple of hours afterwards - but I see you do that already. In Brisbane it hasnt been getting as hot as Perth, but we did get 38/39 degrees for a few days in a row and I was miserable. Thankfully the weather has cooled to the low 30s because I am 39wks tomorrow and I couldnt handle it.
Swimming, elevation, putting my feet and hands in cold water, massage, compression socks when I was at work (although there was nothing I could do for my sausage fingers and I havent seen any compression gloves around lol). It feels like arthritis doesnt it? I am always the most sore and swollen first thing in the morning. The Christmas eating hasnt helped matters - even thought I dont have much room to stuff myself. This week I am focussing on reducing sugar and salt in my diet as I think sugar is inflammatory and salt retains water. |

I was going to say that I posted a similar post a week ago about my sausage fingers. I know how you feel.
I also had BP checked and it was low so I thought all good and didn't worry. Fast forward a week and I just saw the Obyn and guess what.... bP is up. Maybe get checked again too. So far mine is just ok but higher than usual. |
