what is the best mozzie bite treatment?

It was really hot last night so the house was opened up until late and no one slept with covers on. My poor 4 year old got eaten alive by mozzies and is so uncomfortable now. She reacts quite badly to them and the more she scratches the worst she gets. Any suggestions to help her? Not scratching at all is the best. Otherwise stingose is usually the best. Or tea tree oil.

Your poor dd! I find dermaid cream helps stop the itch. We also use calamine lotion

Poor thing. Do you have any calamine lotion or paw paw cream in the house. My dd is allergic and we used to put paraderm plus on them -a cream from the chemist- but I'm not sure they make it now. You could also give her some anti-histamine. Good luck

Not sure if you have a pharmacy open near you but those bite and burn creams (often have lignocaine as the active ingredient) work a treat to rake the itch away, maybe check with pharmacist about how much you can use at once/ok for a 4 year old. We get eaten alive at times in Darwin, always have some in the medicine cabinet, you'll need a pharmacy though. It numbs the itch and stops the scratching for a handful of hours at a time

I have an anti histamine cream from when she had hives but I'd say its past expiry, I'll check. Would claratyne help till morning? I don't have much else. I feel so sorry for her

I'd go an antihistamine tablet/medicine if you can, plus something topical. Poor poppet.

Itch-eze is the only thing we use, but I've only ever found it in one pharmacy in Darwin. We buy it online now.

Breastmilk is the best anti-histamine around. Yes I am serious. Can you squeeze out any colostrum OP, even just a tiny bit would probably help.
